2024 NBBC Senior Practice Tests

Looking for a way to evaluate what you've studied for the 2024 National Bible Bee?  Try these practice tests!

Content

These tests are written on the 2024 NBBC Senior memory passages, and on Daniel 1-6.  Questions may include content from the 2024 NBBC Senior memory passages and from Daniel 1-6, cross-references and historical background for both the Senior memory passages and Daniel 1-6, and original language (Hebrew and Aramaic words) from Daniel 1-6.

Half the questions on each test include the content, context, and background of the 2024 NBBC Senior memory passages.  The other half of the questions on each test include the content, context, cross-references, and background for Daniel 1-6.

Questions will NOT include content from the 2024 NBBC Primary or Junior memory passages.  Juniors and Primaries, don't worry!  Keep an eye open, because I will be posting All-Division Practice Tests SOON!

Questions

The full-length test includes 100 questions.  The half-length test is 50 questions long, and the quarter-length test is 25 questions.

Each time you take the test, the questions will vary.  The questions will NOT all be the same every time you take the test.

All the questions are drawn from the same question bank, so questions will overlap from test to test.  The time limit will change from test to test, however.

Again, each test is about half memory passage questions and half study passage questions.

Time Limit

The time limit for my full-length practice test is 30 minutes, 10 minutes less than the 40 minutes given in the NBBC Multiple Choice Test (MCT), and 50 less questions.  The half-length (50-question) test has a time limit of 15 minutes, and the quarter-length (25-question) test has an 8-minute time limit.

These time limits are actually slightly longer than you'll get on the real MCT, so just keep in mind that it may feel like less time on the real MCT.  The actual ratio of time to questions should be 26 minutes 40 seconds for 100 questions, but I rounded it up to 30 minutes, and kept the 3:10 time to questions ratio for the half- and quarter-length tests.

Share Your Score!

I have created a document that you can share your score on from my practice tests.  Add your first name or your first and last names and your percentage for each test you take.  Please only add your score for your FIRST ATTEMPT.  You can take the tests as many times as you like, but only share your score on the document for your FIRST attempt.

You can take the opportunity to encourage other test takers in the comments on the scores document, but please be sure NOT to get carried away in the comment section.  Do NOT post any demeaning or rude comments, and do NOT resolve comment chains.  I will resolve comments if anyone gets carried away or posts anything mean or rude, and I will change the editing access if anyone applies ANY edits to the document EXCEPT adding their own name and score.  Thank you for your encouragement and consideration!

And Finally . . .

You may be like me, and really take the results to heart, especially if you feel like you fail, but no matter how you do, remember to give the glory to God and keep working hard!  Don't stake your expectations on the results of the practice tests or even on the results of the competition, because they can and will disappoint you.  Put your trust in God's strength and grace and commit the results to Him, giving Him glory in success AND in failure!

I'm not sure how difficult my test questions actually are, but if they're as difficult as I try to make them, they're close to the actual difficulty level of the MCT questions.  I do my very best to replicate the style and difficulty of the actual test, so don't freak out if you get what seems like a shockingly low score at first.  Keep taking the tests and focus on the areas of the study that you find you need to work on more!

All that being said, I hope you enjoy the tests!  I'm cheering for you, and I'm excited to see what God does for you at this year's National Bible Bee Competition!

God bless!
Hannah

2024 Primary Memory Passage Songs

Songs are a fun and effective way to memorize Scripture.  In our family, we have found that some of the passages that we remember the best are the ones that we learned from a song. Below are audio files for each of the 15 Primary Memory Passages from the 2024 NBB Summer Study set to familiar tunes.  These are recorded in NKJV . Preparing for the NBBC Qualifying Test

So, You Want to Take the NBBC Qualifying Test? If you are new to Bible Bee or you want to qualify for the first time, you may be wondering what you need to know for the Qualifying Test.  In this post I will give some tips and ideas about how to prepare so that you feel ready at test time. If you have not already read through the current Summer Study Guidebook, please head over to your Bible Bee dashboard and check that out.  There is a list of the things that a participant should study and learn for the Qualifying Test.  The ideas that I am going to share come from my experience as a Bible Bee mom who has helped several of my children study.  Anything I share on this blog is unofficial, so please make sure that you have read the official resources put out by the National Bible Bee.
