I made these sorting and sequencing cards to teach my 9- and 7-year-old Primary kiddos how to outline this year's Summer Study passage. We start by sorting the cards into the correct chapter and then we try to put them in order. I like to have my kids do this on their own as much as possible. The correct order is provided on the back of the chapter number cards, so they are able to check their own work and move cards around as needed. If the activity is overwhelming, separate out the summary statements for only one or two chapters at a time.
These could be used as flashcards for participants who are ready to learn the summary statement and the correct reference. It would be fun to take the summary statements and let your kids draw a picture to help them remember each section. Put them on a poster board or glue them into a notebook and your child can create their own storyboard or picture book of John 1-6. Or come up with your own creative idea!
However you choose to use these, I hope they help your child to get a grasp of the order of events in John 1-6.
